I remembered that it was a rainy afternoon when I had my first lecture in the University. Alone, not knowing how to get across the road without getting drenched, I took the long way back home. Perhaps it was an indication from God that the next few months would be a tough route, that I might just slip and fall along the way.

But, I took no notice of that sign.

Life had been an emotional roller-coaster for the past four months; up, down, up again, down again. I couldn’t foresee when the next fall would be. Honestly, I had a hard time trying to pick myself up. After all, falling is always much easier than getting up. Everything was happening just far too fast. Before I actually managed to pick myself up, there comes another massive blow. Life’s much of a mental and emotional struggle. I couldn’t help but to wish that the semester would end faster. But now that all had come to an end, I kind of miss school actually, especially the beautiful people that I had met.

Brina: My first friend, even before the start of University! Yay! Glad that you did drop me a message months ago. Thanks for being such a nice friend. It’s fun whining about school with you on msn. :D

Yan Jun: My Orientation group leader! Thanks for being such a nice senior. Thanks for the stack of Math notes you gave me. :D

Teck: My very first friend from my Orientation group! I still remember that you were sitting beside me during the games. Thanks for the comforting and encouraging words when I was terribly down. Honestly, I’m touched that you bothered to check that I was alright even though you were going through the same depressing moments. Really sweet. :D

Joseph: Also from my Orientation group! Thanks for being such a fun and crappy guy throughout the orientation days, especially Flag Day! :D

Maiya: My first friend from my Math tutorial group. Thanks for being such a bubbly and bouncy girl even through the darkest time. :D

Jolene: The outspoken girl who had almost the same timetable as me! It really amazes me at how we managed to be in the same tutorial and lab groups. Pure coincidence. Really miss the times when you will be in the lecture theater way before the start of the lecture, always early, that’s just so you. I miss your craziness over those cartoons too, not forgetting the occasional whines and gossips. :D I hope your health gets better! :)

De Yang: That very very chatty guy. I still remember that you helped to pick up my ruler during one of the lectures. I hope that you had found your direction in life. :)

Li Hui: Thanks for being such a fun project mate. It’s fun laughing at our little jokes during lectures and tutorials. It’s really sad that I wouldn’t get to see you anymore, since this is your final semester. *cries*

Isabella: It’s just pure joy working with you and Li Hui on our User Manual and Oral Presentation. Thanks for inviting us over to your room. And that word of encouragement/ blessing you sent me when I least expect it. :D

Bryan: My only group mate from the Proposal project that I’m still in contact with! I’m kind of glad that Ms Lee decided to break the all girls group which I was previously in. :D

Eugene: Thanks for helping me out during the logic circuit labs. :D

Ali: The ever bouncy guy who never fail to laugh even during the darkest days. Thanks for helping me out when I had a hard time figuring out the SCPU. Will never forget the sensible and sometimes weird logics of yours. :D

Canisius: It’s fun chatting with you and Maiya after every Math tutorial, on our way to the programming labs. :D

Jeffrey: Thanks for the help on Curve Sketching. And the conversations on the train back home. :D

It’s through this lowest point in life that I get to see who my true friends were. Heartfelt thanks to all my friends who bothered to cheer me up when I was feeling really dejected. And the really encouraging comments that I received.

I’m glad to have this less-than-a-month vacation since I haven’t had a break for more than a year! Then again, it’s less of resting, more of finally having the time to do what I always wanted to do for the past one year, yet never had the chance to. Would be returning comments soon. :D
