Where had that anti-social little girl gone to? The girl who is constantly shutting herself from the rest of the world. The girl who is always living in the little world of her own. The girl who never like to speak a word.
I remembered that during the first few weeks of school, I was the still same old me; sitting all by myself during lectures, tutorials and labs. I believe that if no one had bothered to notice my existence, things might not have changed a bit; I might still be alone for the next few semesters.
To the group of guys who kept be company for both the semesters, this is for you:
(Left-to-right clockwise: Christopher, Jesslin, Me, Jeffrey, Kian Wei, Ali, Eugene) :P

Eugene: Thanks for keeping me company when Jolene was on leave of absence during the later part of the first semester. I can’t imagine how life would be if you chose to leave me by myself. Really thankful that you didn’t! Got to know you from Jolene, and from you, I got to know the rest of the other guys. Thank you! :)
Jeffrey: My going-back-home friend. Thanks for keeping me company on the bus and train rides. Not sure if we’ll still get to go home together for the next few semesters, since you had gotten yourself a girlfriend! Haha. Either way, thanks a lot of helping me out in Math and keeping me entertained on the journeys back home. :)
Ali: It’s kind of sad that I don’t get to see you much this semester. Hopefully we’ll get to bump into each other more in the future semesters. Know what, you’re one of the nicest guys ever. Someone whom I love to converse with over MSN. It really amazes me at how you are always able to tell how I think or feel about certain issues, without having me to say a word. Perhaps, the reading on Confucius does help. Haha. :)
Kian Wei: The guy who is constantly bullying me! Gahh. Despite that, school can be kind of dull without you, since Jeffrey would have no one to make fun of, and the rest of us, would have not been that entertained. :P Anyway, thanks so much for planning such a fantastic timetable this semester.
Christopher: The guy who doesn’t really talk much. Haha. Thanks for helping me out on the Database Management System module. :)
Jesslin: I guess we talk more on MSN than in real life! Thanks for helping me out on the Computational Methods for Basic Finance module. I’m just so so so sure that you will do well in E-Commerce!
Now for the rest who are not in the picture:
Jolene: One of my few girl friends! Glad that you came back this semester! Really really grateful that you initiated to be a friend of mine during the first semester. Really really sweet. You know, you reminded me much of my mentor, someone whom I treasure a lot, overwhelmed with gratitude, but never have the courage to express it. I guess it much of the respect I have in you. Thank you friend! You’re always there for me through the good and bad times. I’m just really fortunate to have you have my friend! :)
Isabella: My 妹妹 (little sister)! You’re the only person I know in School of Computing who is younger than me! Hehe. Thanks for always helping me out when I least expected them. Honestly, you’re one of the sweetest friends I ever had. Thanks for lending me your notes when I couldn’t attend the lectures. I hope you’ll have lots of fun back in Indonesia! *pats pats* :)
Si Yun: My programming partner! Hah, finally managed to find a Singaporean girl taking the same major as me! Yays! Thanks for the candies that you had given me. Sorry that I might be a little demanding sometimes. Haha. Either way, it was fun being you project partner. Great that we always have something to talk on the journey back home, after a night of programming in school.
Kenneth: I know I had never told you this. But I’m really touched that you bothered to ask the Prof if we could have a team of 3 instead of 2 since there are 5 of us. Really really sweet, especially when you don’t even know me at that point of time since it is the first lesson. You can chose not to be take notice of my existence and leave me by my own to find a solution. But you chose not to. Really thank you! :)
Jia yuan: Hah. It’s kind of funny how we never really talk when we were taking the same modules during Semester one. And when we did not take any common modules this semester, we started talking to each other. Haha. Nice knowing you. :)
Teck: Glad to be still chatting with you over MSN once in a while. One of my nicest friends during Orientation, how will I ever forget you! :)
Bryan: Nice having you around in Discrete Structure lectures! :)
David: Thanks for lending me your laptop, even if it is for a little while. Haha.
Brina: How can I miss you out! My special friend! Haha. No common modules, but it’s fun chatting with you online, complaining about school and stuff. :)
Others who had helped me: Thank you! :)
That little girl had grown up, thanks to the people around her who showered her with endless love. The next time you see someone all by himself/ herself, go up to him/ her. You never know how his/ her life would be changed due to that little action you had taken. I hope that someday I will have the courage to do the same.
I’m grateful for what I have now. And for the things I don’t have, I believe that God has a great reason for taking them away. After all, how bad can life be when you have the company of some really great friends!
Awe, I love your drawing, it’s sooo cute. ^________^ I’m glad you found some friends and ones you can depend on to make you smile and laugh.
Reply: Thanks Jenn. :)

Reply: Thanks for the compliment! :D
I’m really tempted to count the number of “Haha”s and “:)”s you had up there, but I’ll restrain myself. ;P (Supposed to be studying Maths right now, but I’ve been doing that for like … 3 hours straight =| ) I understand how great it feels to simply have company, have people around you as you walk to the bus stop, chatting about the littlest things … it totally makes a difference in your day. ^_^
The drawing’s super cute, BTW!
Reply: Hah. I know there’s a lot of smiles, but I never realised that there’s quite a number of Hahas too. Hee. *nods* Friends can make such a big difference. Good luck with your Math! Hopefully, you’ll finish studying for it soon! Ohh, and thanks for the compliment on my drawing. I still love your drawings more! :P

Reply: I know how some things are better off being said than unsaid. But I always lack the courage to. But, I did email them a simplified version. And when I say simplified, it’s really very very simplified. :P
