Big things, little kids
Community Service | 10:39 am

Sometimes in life, we got so lost that we question our existence. I experience that sometimes, perhaps most of the times. I just shrugged off that thought and move on.

Volunteer X: You can move forward, there’s an empty space in front.
Min Xuan: I don’t want. I want to sit with that jie jie (big sister).

And she points at me, smiling gleefully. Honestly, I haven’t felt that wanted or important for a long long while. She’s a little kid, with a really big heart.

I guess that as we age, we have more things to complain about and often neglects the beautiful part of life. We get really generous with brainless criticisms but stint on compliments. I’m equally guilty for that too.

I haven’t told anyone how important they were to me for a long long while. In fact, I don’t remember that I had ever told anyone how much they meant to me. I never did, and I never have that courage to.

I know that sometimes action speaks louder than words. But at times, it’s a lot more better to speak up. Gahhh. Huimei’s such a scardy cat.

Anyway, what that little girl said is enough to make me smile for the rest of the week. It’s really amazing what big things little kids can do.
